- Wes had his Farewell on Sunday May 12th 2013, his topic was on Mothers and the Proclamation to the Family, He did AWESOME! I am sure glad he got his speaking ability from his Dad not from me!
- Wes was set apart as a full time Missionary on Monday evening May 13th, what an amazing experience this was to witness!
- Wes left On Tuesday May 14th 2013, we were lucky we were able to take him to the SLC airport and stay with him for a couple of Hour before he left. The whole fam was able to be there to see him offl, I am so greatful for this last few hours we were able to be with him.
- Wes had a layover in Chicago, then on to London where they had a 10 hour layover, the group was able to see many of the amazing sights around London, I will make sure and post pics as soon as he sends them to us. He then flew all night into Johannesburg and arrived at the MTC around noon Thursday.( Africa is 8 hours ahead ) This is the email he sent to let us know he arrived safely. WHEW! I can breath a little easier knowing he arrived in one piece.
WEEK ONE DAY 3 (In Johannesburg MTC)
Gooday family, I am sitting in
the MTC right now, getting yelled at by the nurse because I do not have my immunization
papers ha ha (by the way you need to send them asap). As soon as my flight
landed in south Africa I could not stop smiling! this place is incredible,
everyone has there companion but me, cause mine is coming from Kenya. there are
only 13 missionaries in the MTC, how cool is that. I figured out how to set
my watch finally ha ha. driving here is so weird, everything is opposite and
everyone drives super crazy and fast, I
love it. we don't call a BBQ a BBQ we
call them a fry! and a truck is not called a truck ha ha its called a bukky. I
am about to go get my shots and then go on a tour of the MTC, then we are
playing sand volleyball. for lunch at the MTC we had some really good gritts
with vegetables and meet, with fresh guava juice to drink and some fresh bananas, it was so good. I am so tired its not even funny, but they wont let
us fall asleep until 8 cause they said it helps with getting used to the time difference, oh man, sorry my time is up I Love you all more than you know,
thank you for your support.
